WHAT WE DO

Offering a transitional day program for the homeless, the Resource Center is a case management program which assists people in their efforts to work their way out of homelessness. Every member is assigned a case manager who works  with them to overcome barriers to housing and self-sufficiency. When housing is achieved, the case manager remains involved until independence is achieved. Various classes, a meal program, showers, laundry facilities and social activities are also offered as a part of the programming.

VMC’s Rapid Rehousing Program (RRH) is a housing case management program that offers assistance to adults experiencing homelessness.  Neighbors meet with their assigned case manager to develop a plan to move into permanent housing in the community.  Once housing is achieved, case managers will continue to offer support by way of home visits and connection to any needed long-term supports.  Case management is provided for a minimum of 3 months and up to 9 months post-housing placement.
The ultimate goal for VMC’s Street Outreach is to help neighbors who are living in outdoor locations obtain their own permanent housing. We do this by providing access to housing case management services offered across our community. Direct services can include anything from providing accurate information about housing and programs, to providing a ride to the doctor, to helping another agency provider locate a client who has lost touch. VMC’s Street Outreach staff work in a team to visit various camps and sites where those experiencing street homelessness regularly gather. The Street Outreach team maintains a consistent schedule of visits to these sites in order to develop relationships and trust.
