VOLUNTEER
The word VOLUNTEER has a very special meaning to us here at VMC, from day one volunteers have been integral to our programs and services! The Volunteer Ministry Center was founded by volunteers and volunteers continue to serve as the foundation of preventing and ending homelessness in Knoxville and Knox County.
VMC has many volunteer opportunities for people of all faiths, interests and talents. We have needs for groups and individuals to do a variety of things around our facility. Click here to see a full list of opportunities.
Schedule a "Get acquainted with VMC" Session
Interested in learning more about volunteering at VMC? Schedule a time to meet with VMC's Volunteer Coordinator one to one at our Administrative Offices located at 511 N. Broadway. During this time you will learn about VMC’s philosophy, meet our staff and take a tour of our facility. It is also a great opportunity to see all that we do and to get answers to any questions that you may have. To schedule your "Get Acquainted with VMC" session, please contact Lisa McKay at lmckay@vmcinc.org or 865-524-3926 x230.
If you are representing a group of individuals (such as a church group or business) and are interested in volunteering , we ask that you or a representative of your group attend a “Get Acquainted" session.
VMC has a policy that volunteers under that age of 18 are to be accompanied by a legal parent or guardian. The youngest a person under the age of 18 can volunteer is 13 years of age.
