BUSH FAMILY REFUGE
VMC’s Bush Family Refuge serves individuals who are in crisis and who may be at risk of losing their housing. It also serves the homeless who are in need of an assessment for housing services. Services provided include assistance with rent, utilities, transportation, prescriptions, birth certificates and state-issued identification, and housing assessments

Who we serve:
Knox County TN residents who are low income
What we provide:
Coordinated Housing Assessment and Match Plan (CHAMP) assessments for literally homeless (staying in emergency shelter or a place not meant for habitation)
KAT bus tickets for verifiable medical appointments or job
Limited availability of shoes/boots for those who need appropriate footwear to start a job
Assistance obtaining replacement TN identification cards
Assistance obtaining birth certificates
Prescription payment assistance (non-narcotic only)
Referrals to community providers
Utility/Rent payment assistance for Knox County TN residents

No documentation is needed for a CHAMP assessment, replacement IDs, KAT tickets, prescription payment assistance, or community referrals.
