Medical and dental care has been constantly recognized as an ongoing and under-met need of the poor and homeless. Cherokee Health operates an on-site health clinic in the VMC building.
The VMC Dental Clinic provides high-quality dental services at an easily accessible location and is operated by dental professionals on a rotating volunteer schedule. Because it is located within the VMC facility, those in need are more likely to use the Dental Clinic’s services. It is the only facility of its kind in the area which does not require identification. Care is offered to all homeless, even those from surrounding counties. All services at the Dental Clinic are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are free of charge.
To contact the Dental Clinic for an appointment, please call 934-1746 on Tuesday and Friday mornings. If you call at any other time, you will hear an informational message but will not be able to leave a voicemail.
We are always looking for volunteer dentists and dental hygienists to provide services in our clinic. If you are interested, please e-mail Christy Howard, Dental Clinic Coordinator at for more information.
